Orthodox portfolio management has become too complex. Investment advisors are slicing and dicing client portfolios into far too many asset classes. The same is true for individual investors. Large cap growth, mid cap value, small cap growth, small cap value, international, real estate, etc. – where does it stop? For the past 70 years, the best investment vehicle has been the stock market. At Chartwell, we have made a conscious decision to focus on market timing. Using selected mutual funds and Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), portfolios are balanced for various degrees of risk and return.
